I recently had a photo shoot with Ella at her wonderful home. I love to shoot with natural light and her home had lots of it. For me it’s the best light to use for a boudoir photoshoot as it helps to create depth and atmosphere to a shoot.

Empowered photo shoot
Empowered photo shoots are becoming very popular and it’s not just loved ones that are booking them.
Ladies are looking for time for themselves, time away from busy work and home life.
I have worked with many clients over the past few years and the reason they choose to have an empowered photoshoot can be from reaching a milestone birthday to wanting time for just them and to create a set of images that they can love and look back on in years to come.

Boudoir shoot
Boudoir photography is empowering as well as a great opportunity to create a wonderful set of images that can make you look and feel beautiful.
I was recently contacted by Miss M, a lady who wanted to have a boudoir session and to create a set of images that not only makes her look and feel beautiful, but for her it was all about the empowerment.
For many years she had felt undervalued and one day she decided that enough was enough and she would take control back on her life, starting with a boudoir shoot.
We had been in conversation for many weeks discussing why she had decided to have a boudoir shoot and what she was hoping to get from it.
Every lady has their own reasons for having a boudoir shoot, whether it’s to help get over a relationship break up, to create a set of images that they can look back on in years to come and still appreciate how beautiful they are, or because they want to feel empowered.
For me it’s all about my client and making sure that they are happy and that also includes where the shoot will take place. Miss M preferred to have the shoot at her home, so that is what we did. Obviously she was feeling a little nervous, but by having the shoot at her place, meant she was a little more relaxed and didn’t have to worry about what to outfits to pack to take to the shoot.
As we went through the shoot and I showed Miss M the images, she could see that she was beautiful and that helped her to relax and enjoy the experience more than she thought. Seeing the images also helped her feeling of empowerment and to see the smile on her face makes my job so worthwhile.
Showing the images is such a key component to my boudoir shoots, so important for your client to see how she looks, but it also helps to settle her nerves, shows that she is beautiful and also shows what you trying to achieve and that can then help her with posing.

Instagram live interview
Sunday was a great day, I was interviewed by the wonderful Natalie from Our Baby Club, Cotswolds about my boudoir photography.
It was fantastic to be able to talk about my boudoir photography and how it helps to empower ladies. I started to specialise with boudoir photography 4 years ago and just love to work with my clients.
In the early days it was ladies getting images for their loved ones as a gift, but over the past 2 years I have noticed a shift in the reason behind why ladies are having a boudoir shoot.
My clients decide to have a boudoir shoot for themselves, they are seeking time for them, time away from a busy schedule at work or at home. They want a little time for themselves, to help them feel and look beautiful.
For me the best time in a boudoir shoot, is part way in and I show my client some of her images. The look on their faces is incredible, they look so happy and realise that Wow that is me and I am beautiful.
Having the images also helps to make for a wonderful keep sake for her to look back on in years to come and feel beautiful all over again.
We are all beautiful and I love to work with my clients and create simply incredible images for them to keep.
Natural Light Boudoir Photography
I love to use natural light with my boudoir photography and feel that it is the best light to use with this genre of photography.
The softness of the light helps to create beautiful images that can offer shadows to make for an atmospheric photo.
Here I worked with Hannah and had her sat on the bed facing the window. Getting her to sit like this means that the light will fall across her and will help to create that natural look. I decided to shoot from the side, so that we get the light and darkness highlighted.
